Editorial Policy

Every article on this site is governed by the rules below. They are not aspirational — the publishing system enforces most of them mechanically, and the rest are the standard a byline here has to meet.

Sourcing

News articles are grounded in named, linked sources. Where multiple outlets report a story we synthesise them and attribute each specific fact to the outlet that reported it — in the text, with a link. We do not reproduce another newsroom's sentences, and we do not launder social-media posts into sourcing: a tweet is not a source here.

Transfer stories follow a two-source rule: a move is reported only when two independent outlets carry it or a club or league has confirmed it officially. Anything short of that bar is labelled a rumour in the first sentence or not published at all.

Data

Scores, fixtures, standings and transfer records are drawn from live league and federation feeds and re-sorted, never typed in by hand. Where a number cannot be sourced we say so rather than estimate it. League tables on this site update from the same feed the leagues themselves publish.

Corrections

When we get something wrong we correct the article, note the correction at the foot of the piece, and update the timestamp. Corrections can be requested through the contact page and are reviewed by the desk editor for that section, not by the writer alone.

Independence

Rankings, tables and results are never influenced by any commercial relationship. Where any link on this site is commercial it is labelled at the point of the link. No one can pay for coverage, placement or a kinder verdict.

Bylines

Every article carries a real byline that links to an author page stating that writer's beat, background and methodology. Section editors are accountable for what runs under their desk.
